Protect Cash

Cash is a main staple of British society. We kept the Great British Pound when much of Europe moved to Euro.
Now we’re at risk of losing it entirely in its physical form.
All those times we put £5 in a child’s birthday card, or used pennies to buy penny sweets, bought a present for our significant other with cash so as to not ruin the surprise with it showing up on the bank statement and so on; these were only possible due to cash.
Yet we are losing access to cash; cash machines are being removed, high street banks are closing and shops or businesses are regularly demanding card only payments.
While we sometimes find it easier to use our bank cards or online banking we need to maintain the option of using cash.
Why? Because of freedom and liberty as well as standing up for the most vulnerable who use cash the most.
If this were an isolated issue with a Government we trusted then that would be one thing, but that is not the case.  We have a Government who is also trying to get rid of the Human Rights act and has a history of not respecting our data privacy so why would you want them to be able to see every single transaction you make? Can you trust them to not interfere?  Plus there are many for whom it’s just not an option, they don’t have or want a smartphone, they work best with cash and we would be doing them a huge disservice to deny them free access to their own money by trying to force them online.
Actions You Can Take To Protect Cash
KEEP CASH FRIDAY
Help protect cash by joining in with KEEP CASH FRIDAY, where we pledge to only use cash for all transactions on a Friday.

In the morning withdraw the amount you need and use only that for the day.

Obviously, if you then want to extend this to the weekend please do, but the more of us that are doing it the more the demand will stay high.
WRITE TO YOUR MP

Use the form below to write to your MP and ask them to pledge to Keep Cash in their constituency.

They can do this by responding to the email with their pledge, assessing how many cash machines and high street banks there are in their constituency and also writing to all local businesses urging them to maintain cash payments as an option.

You can see the full letter and send it below by entering your details.
